OUR ECOPARKS
Over the past decade, UICT has experienced exponential growth in its educational facilities, together with a notable expansion in sustainable socio-economic and environmental projects.
UICT proudly oversees two Ecoparks
– Buyuk Chamlija Ecopark in Centurion, and Nansindlela Ecopark in Pietermaritzburg.
As embodiments of community investment, our Ecoparks provide residents with serene sanctuaries to commune with nature and one another.
Beyond their scenic allure, these parks serve as vital social hubs, offering families a secure and peaceful setting for quality time together. They are meticulously designed to foster meaningful interactions amidst nature’s beauty and host social events and gatherings.
Buyuk Chamlija transcends mere recreation – it serves as a platform for skills development and empowerment. Through strategic partnerships and initiatives, the park provides training opportunities for UICT students
in agriculture, horticulture, and hospitality skills to enhance individuals’ employability and contribute to the community’s long-term prosperity. Both parks reinvest profits back into the organisation to ensure sustained growth and impact.
Furthermore, environmental stewardship is a top priority for both parks, maintaining well-balanced ecosystems that support biodiversity. Visitors can explore a variety of plants, birds and animals, with every aspect of the parks carefully nurtured to preserve their natural splendour.
